The Comfort Zone

If there is one thing I learned throughout my career, is that it takes a lot of courage to step away from your comfort zone, where you feel safe and in control, in search of growth. It’s even more difficult when you don’t have a clear roadmap to guide you.

I remind myself often that I always have a choice: I can settle for what I know, what is safe and familiar, or I can challenge my status quo and see what I am capable of. I try to make challenging myself a norm.

The journey is not typically linear but full of peaks, valleys and plateaus. Fear has always been part of the process, and so has learning. I try to surround myself with people that will support my goals at all times, taking care to avoid those who would introduce their doubt and fear to my plans unintentionally. My comfort zone could easily become the graveyard for my dreams and ideas, so the only way I want to see it is through my rearview mirror.

I wish you nothing but the same!
